Invitation for Sponsorship and Exibition
Dear Colleagues,
Warm greetings from the Macedonian Association for Geotechnics (MAG), the Macedonian National Group of the International Society for Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering (ISRM)!
It is our great pleasure and honor to invite the global rock mechanics and rock engineering community to the ISRM Regional Symposium – EUROCK 2026, to be held 15–19 September 2026 in Skopje, R. N. Macedonia. We warmly welcome scientists, researchers, professionals, companies and accompanying persons to join us for this significant international gathering at the heart of the Balkans.
The central theme, “Risk Management in Rock Engineering” reflects our shared commitment to enhancing safety, sustainability, and resilience in engineering practice. The technical program will highlight innovations, applied research, and global case studies, encouraging dialogue across disciplines and sectors. We aim to bring together engineers, designers, consultants, researchers, and academics to promote collaboration and inspire new solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.
EUROCK 2026 will feature a diverse and dynamic program, including technical sessions, workshops, short courses, industrial exhibition, and technical excursion. A RockBowl competition and paper and poster awards will engage young researchers and students, while a dedicated accompanying persons program will offer cultural tours, excursions, and social gatherings. Delegates will also enjoy the Gala Dinner and other memorable networking events celebrating Macedonian hospitality, cuisine, and tradition.
The conference topics will encompass, but are not limited to: Risk assessment and mitigation methods; rock properties and testing (including planetary rock mechanics); design and analysis methods (including EC7); rock dynamics, crustal stress, and earth/marsquakes; environmental and mining applications; climate change implications; geotechnical aspects of soft rocks and hard soils; cultural heritage rock mechanics; Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications; case histories; and education and training in rock mechanics.
Recent EUROCK symposia have attracted 300–400 international participants, occasionally exceeding 500 in particularly active years. Number of expected domestic delegates from Macedonia is around 150-200, reflecting the strong local engagement in this field.
At present, across the Balkans, Europe, and the world, major infrastructure investments are transforming the landscape — including highways, railways, dams, landfills, mining operations, gas pipelines, and renewable energy projects such as emerging petrothermal energy sites. Many of these developments are located in mountainous, seismically active, and geologically complex rock environments. Consequently, engineers are constantly challenged to manage risks in rock engineering, making the exchange of knowledge and experience through EUROCK 2026 especially relevant.
Therefore, the Organizing Committee of the EUROCK 2026 warmly invites companies related to all of the above mentioned sub-fields of Rock Engineering and Rock Mechanics to attend this event through the exhibition, sponsorship opportunities and with technical papers.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming You and Your company to Skopje in September 2026 — and to the many professional connections that may bring you together with colleagues again on project sites across Europe and beyond!
Organizing Committee of EUROCK 2026
